Now that’s how you finish a pay per view!

Well it may have taken the prospect of losing monthly subscribers to do it, but the wwe absolutely delivered this month. The writing all week has been pretty solid (to the point where Bray vs. Ambrose was actually under appreciated) and the Survivor Series main event delivered exactly what the fans wanted and clearly set the stage for things to change, at least for the time being.

So here’s what I got right: Bray defeats Ambrose (although by disqualification, but still) and Nikki Bella is the new Divas champ (boo I say). Wyatt and Ambrose are clearly building to an all out no DQ war at TLC, which is exactly what I was hoping for from the start. I’d really like to learn what Wyatt was trying to prove by letting Ambrose wail on him with a chair (and a few tables, and a ladder). When he pulled that on Cena, it was meant to show that Cena was no better than the rest of them. With Ambrose it’s just a free shot, because of course he’s going to wail on him with a chair! Did Wyatt not watch the HITC match that he interrupted last month? It’ll be interesting to see how this’ll get worked into the script for the rivalry.

So for the misses: one team of divas defeated the other, and despite having almost 20 minutes to work no one really showed anything interesting. So who cares. But Mizdow winning the tag belts!? I’m totally down for that, and clearly the fans are too. I’ve been saying for a while now that Sandow is underused and undervalued as a performer (especially a comedic one), so I am super psyched to see him get some exposure.

Now for the big one. I honestly did not think that creative had the balls or the foresight to put team Cena over and end the Authority. Had I written my initial post after watching Smackdown, where the team Cena members were all informed that they would be fired if they lost, I might have changed my mind but probably not. So good for creative for taking the leap and getting the fans on their feet just before Wrestlemania season. Also, Sting!

I can’t really say where creative goes from here, since the whole purpose of the event was to shake things out of the status quo. Most likely we’ll see Ziggler take on Rollins, Harper vs. Rowan, and Brock Lesnar will undoubtedly start showing up to work again.

See you all in a few weeks for some much needed TLC.
